Winner of the CISI Educational Trust Award 2019

Akshat Vyas

Akshat Vyas, currently studying MSc Financial Risk Management, has won the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) Educational Trust Award. Akshat was the highest performing student out of those who had signed up for the Award and were studying the Securities, Futures and Options module.

The award comes with a £1000 cheque and is followed by an essay competition, where the top 5 winners are invited to the CISI offices in London. They have the opportunity to network with CISI Educational Trust members and additional award funds are available based on interview performance.

Akshat Vyas commented on the award:

I am honoured to be recognised for the hard work with CISI Educational Trust Award and it motivates me to pursue my goal for career in finance with more rigour. CISI Educational Trust Award process provides an excellent opportunity to compete with the best and to network with the industry experts.

Preparing for the CISI exam will help me to understand the topics, that are important to practitioners in the industry, in more detail. Being one of the globally recognised professional qualifications, CISI Diploma will give me a competitive advantage in securing a job in the financial industry.

The ICMA Centre is a CISI Centre of Excellence and students can study for the CISI exam as part of their course. Successful completion of two CISI Diploma in Capital Markets modules enables an exemption from the third. You can find out more about our Master’s in Finance programmes here.
