ICMA Centre Academic hosts alumni reunion event in Shanghai

Dr George Alexandridis, Associate Professor at the ICMA Centre and Henley Business School Head of Pre-Experience Postgraduate Programmes, recently hosted the alumni event at the Grand Kempinski Hotel in Shanghai, China where 50 alumni attended from all Henley programme areas including the ICMA Centre, Real Estate and Planning, Accounting and Informatics and Business and Management.

Dr Alexandridis, Head of Pre-Experience PG Programmes commented:

I was delighted to go back to Shanghai and see our alumni. It was exciting to hear their success stories. It was an event to remember and thanks to everyone that attended! We have a very dynamic alumni base in China and we aim to be doing more such events there in the future.

Dr Alexandridis also visited Dalian Maritime University in Dalian as part of his trip to conclude discussions on a future collaboration with Henley Business School. View more photos from the event on the ICMA Centre Facebook page.

Fahad Alhumaidah's research has been featured in the Central Banking Publications’ (CBP) annual book titledRBS Reserve Management Trends 2013. Published in spring each year, the book presents survey results of around 60 participating central banks, responsible for more than $6.7 trillion in reserve assets, on their views of the global financial markets and the key issues facing the international monetary system. Aside from the survey results, the book also features other chapters relevant to the subject of central bank reserve management contributed by various authors.

Event: "The Impact of Brexit on the City" - Tim Skeet

The ICMA Centre hosted another talk as part of the "Industry Insights" series, this time with long-time banking expert and Visiting Fellow Tim Skeet. The talk, entitled ‘The Impact of Brexit’ on the City, proved to be both enlightening and somewhat hopeful for aspiring financial professionals such as myself and my peers. The talk covered many topics, primarily the causes of Brexit, communication deficiencies on the part of politicians and finance specifically, wider instability in the world and the risks all of this poses for finance, and more specifically finance in the City of London.
